Black Forest Ice Cream Cube

What do you get when you cube a Square? One large Black Forest Ice Cream Cube, of course! It's amazing how something so extravagant can be so simple: just Cherry Squares & cherry nice cream. Thanks Natalie (a.k.a. @feastingonfruit) for this awesome recipe!

Ingredients:

2 frozen bananas
1 cup frozen cherries
Optional: chocolate sauce & fresh cherries, for toppings

Recipe:

  1. Using one of your Squares, press a small piece of tin foil around the Square and up the sides to make a custom Square-shaped mold. You can fold and tape the foil as needed, try to make the sides the same height as the Square.
  2. Repeat until you have 4 tin foil molds.
  3. Blend the bananas and frozen cherries until creamy. Transfer to a plastic bag. Freeze for 10 minutes.
  4. Carefully cut each Square into 9 smaller squares (3 rows across and 3 down)
  5. Place the Square pieces into the molds so that two molds have 5 pieces (4 corners and a middle) and two molds have 4 pieces (4 sides).
  6. Cut off one corner of the plastic bag and squeeze the ice cream into the empty spaces between the Square pieces. Fill them generously as the ice cream is kind of like the glue that will hold it all together.
  7. Freeze all the molds for about 15 minutes.
  8. Carefully remove the molds and stack the layers using a little bit of ice cream in between to make them stick.
  9. Freeze for another 15 minutes, then enjoy!
