Spooky Puppy Chow

Trick-or-treat YO'SELF to this addicting mix - it's perfect for your coven soirée, monster bash, or even your party-of-one midnight snack. Trust us witches,a bowl of Spooky Puppy Chow > A bowl of candy! Thanks Stasher Bag for this unBOOlieveable recipe!

(double servings if your serving a crowd)
4 cups of Chex (or chex-like) cereal— we like the rice variety!
1 cup dairy-free chocolate chips
½ cup Nutiva hazelnut spread
¼ - ½ cup vegan butter or coconut butter— softened, not melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ cups powdered sugar— use more or less depending on the coating you like
Chocolate Coated Cookie Dough Bars— cut into ¼-inch pieces
2 cups candy corn
¼ cup candy eyeballs
1 Stasher Bag for mixing and storing the leftovers... if you have any.

  1. Add chocolate chips, butter and vanilla to small pot and heat on low until the chocolate chips melt, stirring frequently. Then add the Nutiva and stir well to combine. This mixture should be pretty loose, like a sauce. If it’s sticky or dough-like, add more butter.

  2. Put your cereal in a large bowl and then pour the warm chocolate mixture over it. Gently stir until the cereal is evenly coated.

  3. Grab a half-gallon Stasher Bag (or ziploc bag if you don't have a Stasher yet) and pour in about half of your powdered sugar. Then spoon in about half of your chocolate-covered cereal.

  4. Seal the Stasher, trapping as much air inside the bag as possible. Shake vigorously until the sugar has evenly coated the cereal. Pour it into a clean bowl and repeat with the second half of your sugar and cereal.

  5. Once all of your cereal is sugar-coated, mix in your Square pieces, candy corn and candy eyeballs. Enjoy!

  6. Store in fridge for up to a week.
